How Do I Deal With the Weight Gain On Perimenopausal Period?

0 votes
I am 45 years old now and have had irregular periods for the past couple of years. I can go 3 weeks or 4 months between cycles. I gained 12 pounds in weight for the past two months. I am only 5 feet tall and this gain worries me so much. I now work out daily, usually 45 minutes to one hour of cardio followed by a short strength training session. I seldom eat junk food or heavy fatty foods. Being heavy weight now depresses me a lot despite the assurance that my boyfriend gives me, that I still look the same as before. Is there any advice or tips that you may share with me on how will I let go of this situation?

Almost all women who are in their perimenopausal period are experiencing weight gain.  The most common areas where gain is visible are on the hips, abdomen, and waist area.  This is just normal because a lot of changes in the body is happening.  What your normal diet would no longer be effective now.  Aside from your diet, you can combat this weight gain by visiting your doctor.

Some women also undergo counseling during this stage to lift back its confidence level.  What is important is that, you should accept the new you if in case your body will no longer be the same.  Loving the new you must begin within you before others can love you.  Just continue staying healthy, living healthy, and being happy.  Do not forget to consult your doctor if you will be undergoing diets, exercise, and other methods for weight loss.
