Is It Normal for Women To Be Withdrawn During Menopause?

I am a male, aged 51 and have been with my current girlfriend for more than a year now. Recently, she has been so distant from me and seems she doesn’t want to know me anymore. In two weeks from now, we are bound to our holiday and I am afraid it may turn out awful. She told me that she’s just getting through menopausal stage and it is same with other friends of ours. Is this really usual among women or is this just her way of going off from me?
