Am I Pregnant or Is This Just Premature Menopause?

I am now 34 years old and had a tubal ligation six years ago. My period usually starts between the 22nd and 25th of my cycle. I experienced late menstruation when I was pregnant. I am now almost 2 weeks delayed. Am I pregnant or am I just going through premature menopause? My maternal grandmother started menopause at age 36. She had a hypothyroidism but was not sure if they were related. I have had my hormones checked and everything was normal.

After the tubal ligation, I didn’t have any mucus discharge which usually occurs in the middle of cycle or during ovulation period. But for the last 2 ½ years, it started again but not every month.

The tubal ligation that I underwent was the one where a band was put around my tubes. I just don’t know if it has something to do with whatever I am experiencing now. I would really appreciate for any opinions that you may give to me.

Tubal ligation is a procedure done to prevent pregnancy.  However, there are some procedures that fail after several years it has been done.  If suspect pregnancy, have a pregnancy test now.  If it is negative, then perhaps what you are undergoing are just signs that you are moving forward to another stage in your womanhood.
