Can My Colds Be the Reason Why I'm Having a Low Peak Flow Reading?

0 votes
I am a victim of cough variant asthma and I was wondering whether just a cold can cause your peak flow readings to drop in spite of the fact that I do not feel any uneasiness due to my asthma. My peak flow readings are usually in the range of 430-450, but when I did the test today its wave is only 380 and does not seem to go any higher. I have never gone below 430 so far. When I contracted the cold it went to my chest, but funnily enough my asthma has not been aggravated enough to bother me. The last time I had a cold and it got to my chest I had to be put on Prednisone. I have a cough that is full of phlegm, but I am not experiencing the coughing fit I usually have when my asthma flares up. Do you think that the readings are low only because of my cold and that it is not the asthma that is causing it?
