Are Prednisone and Albuterol Safe Enough To Be Prescribed To Infants?

0 votes
I have a four month year old baby who is a victim of RAD or URI. He has already contracted two colds that seem to progress into chest congestion and a vibration in his nose and chest. The last cold that he contracted lasted for two weeks. He underwent a chest X-ray which was normal. The doctor gave him a breathing therapy in his clinic and cleaned his nose. The vibration went away. He has now been prescribed Prednisone and Albuterol. I want to know whether it is usual to give such drugs to babies. The medicine has been prescribed only for a short duration to see whether the rattling will subside. I also would like to know whether there are any other ways of treating a baby if he continues to suffer from this problem I would be very grateful if someone could shed some light on the matter as soon as possible and clear my doubts for me.
