Can I Take Mucinex Dm While Breast Feeding?

I am currently breast feeding and am also congested i would like to know if I could take Mucinex DM and not harm my son.

Mucinex DM contains Guaifenesin which is an expectorant, helping relieve congestion in chest and throat. It is not known if this passes in to the breast milk or if it can cause harm to a nursing baby. It is best to consult a physician prior to taking this medication and inform him/her that you are breastfeeding.
