Why Does My Asthmatic Condition Worsen After Prednisone?

0 votes
Hello, I had an attack recently and I was put on prednisone for most of the time. First they put me on 40mg prednisone and then 25mg for two days consecutively and then I got so bad that I had to go to the doctor who sent me to the hospital. In the hospital, they gave me 100mg IV hydrocortisone for two days and then they put me on 50mg prednisone again. I’m going to finish my course on this drug in the next two days, at 50mg. my doctor found this really strange and she was concerned that the asthma will get even worse after I stop taking prednisone. Why would this happen? She also refused to give me Fl shots because I was on the drug. What could be the reason for this? Should I be concerned? Is there some mistake with the way in which I was given the drug? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Do you suffer from Addison's disease??
This might be a symptom...
Very few GPs are well informed of Addison's disease which is caused by the reduced or stop of natural production of cortisone in our body.
