How Do I Prevent This Cold From Progressing Into an Asthma Attack?

I am a 33 year old woman and am severely asthmatic. I had to be hospitalized twice in the past year following a bad attack and I couldn’t even breathe. They had to put me on a tube and I had to be in the ICU for 4-5 days and after that I was moved to an ordinary room and had to stay there for 5-7 days. I believe my cycle has something to do with my asthma. I’m due to see my gynecologist in a few days to clear some other issues as well. I’ll make sure to ask about the Progesterone cream and premenopause. I have quite a large family consisting of my 2 biological children and 3 foster kids. If I go into the hospital again, they will have a tough time. So I want to do everything possible to avoid such situations. Now my problem is a cold which is progressing into an infection. Pray for me won’t you?
