What Could My Breathlessness and Chest Pain Indicate?

0 votes
I have been suffering from breathlessness with severe coughing and had to land up in the ER after being on prednisone for about four days with no respite. I underwent two breathing tests at the ER and still was experiencing severe breathlessness. The doctor in the ER was quite shocked as my oxygen levels were in a good rating and it was my carbon dioxide levels were very high which implied that I was hyper ventilating. The lung report revealed that I was walking Phonoma. I was treated for it and I became better within two days. This happened in November. Now I find that I am experiencing breathlessness again and my chest is feeling sore. I find that my problem gets worse when I go to sleep at night. When I consulted the doctor, he examined my chest and stated that it sounded good. My Spiogm tests always come out normal. My doctor has prescribed 40 mg of Prednisone, but he is not certain that I am suffering from asthma. My nose has a lot of post nasal drip leaking and I am having a hoarse voice. I really do not know whether I am really suffering from asthma or not. I have come to know about vocal cord dysfunction, but that would not cause any soreness in the chest will it? I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me out of my quandary by telling me what exactly I am suffering from and if so providing a solution to it as soon as possible as all this is really taking its toll on me.
