I have just lately been diagnosed with asthma and being rather new to the disease, there are so many doubts in my mind. I had been suffering from a severe cold and am still reeling under the effects that it had on my sinus. My sinus was so congested that I was feeling terrible. When it was in the most horrible stage, my chest was so full of Phlegm that I had a very severe cough that sounded more like the bark of a pit bull. The PEF became so low almost bordering the red zone and I really was in a quandary whether I should begin to take things seriously as I was having the cold. Could someone please tell me if I am having an attack when the reading goes to the when you have a cold? I really do not know when to take things seriously when you are suffering a bad cold. I did not make use of the inhaler as I did not if I needed to use it at all because I was aware of the fact that the congestion that was a result of the infection that I had contracted. My cough is very much better but the PEF reading which is now in the green zone has not yet reached the level I was in before my cold had started. Can anyone give me any inputs with regard to this please?
