Can Asthma Develop Into a Copd Bronchitis?

0 votes
I have been a victim of persistent severe asthma since about eight years now. It was more or less under control till about a month ago. I am currently recuperating from a bad attack of bronchitis. Well, on the receipt at the doctor’s office he has mentioned ‘COPD Bronchitis and status’. I do not know what he meant. I am able to follow the bronchitis and the status but the COPD??? The doctor never mentioned anything to me about my having COPD, or is it he wrote that just for the insurance company? Even then, do you not think that he should at least have made a mention of it to me? The fact is I never did know that I had Staticus Asthmaticus whatever that meant, till an intern asked him what it meant when I was there. Actually I would have asked him about it but he seemed to be in a hurry and was gone before I even saw what he had written. Can you tell me whether asthma can develop into COPD? I am a bit concerned about it. I would love to hear from someone regarding this.
