What Could Be the Reason for My Breathing Problems?

0 votes
I am not sure if I have asthma or not. I have problems in breathing for so many years and it is said to be psychosomatic. I have a small cough recently which is not serious enough to make me sick. I went to the doctor and when he took the X-ray, it was just fine. I also had spirometry and the result was alright. My doctor said that my breathing problems are the reflux of Protonix which I take for heart burn. It was not very good for my cough and I got immense relief from the heart burn. I asked her whether there is any need to consult an allergy specialist or not. She said to have benedryl at bedtime. My oxygen level is satisfactory but i have mild breathing problems. I suspect I am going to live with it for the rest of the life. What will I do?

i suggest that you go ahead and see a pulmologist. there are many causes of breathing difficulties. it is best to be diagnosed properly. if indeed it is a side effect of protonix however maybe you can ask your doctor of lifestyle and diet changes that you must do in order to alleviate your concern.
