What's the Reason Behind My Son's Severe Cough and Cold?

0 votes
I have a seven year old son who has just been found to be a victim of asthma. I am extremely disturbed by this news. He often experiences a cough after exerting very strenuously. He was given Albuterol to stop the cough and it did not help him at all. He is now on Asmanex and I am worried sick thinking about him suffering from an asthma attack. He was prone to RSV at around the time the cough began. Initially, his cough seemed like a habit but now he seems to be suffering from a severe cold and a vague cough. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions any one can give me on what my boy is actually suffering from. Please do get in touch with me at the earliest if you can help him out as I am getting so desperate with his condition. He has never been seen to be wheezing or suffering from any breathlessness.

Your son might have contracted a viral infectious disease otherwise known as your common cold. Although it is best to have him assessed by his pediatrician. More on the viral infection, this virus is easily contracted from airborne or direct contact with infected nasal secretions. Especially if your son doesn't have his immune system boosted with the needed vitamins. This condition should be well managed so as not to cause an asthma attack. You can also have your son vaccinated with flu vaccine which is usually done annually.
