Has Anyone Here Been Diagnosed With Cough Variant Asthma?

0 votes
Every winter since the past three years, I get a dry and rasping type of cough that seems to last for many weeks or on some occasions, even for a month. Every time I get it, I am treated for it with antibiotics, cortisone injections and generic drugs but till date, none of these remedies have been of any use to me. Each time each doctor has told me that I have contracted either the flu of bronchitis and I think every time that I have been diagnosed wrongly. I eventually went to see a Pulmonologist and said that he suspects it to be something called the cough variant asthma combined with allergies. He prescribed Advair and Nasacort to improve my condition. He claims that this disease becomes very bad during the winter season due to these allergies. I do not have any wheezing, but I have read somewhere that this type of Asthma is not always accompanied by a wheeze.
Well I would like to know if any of you have been diagnosed with this type of Asthma. Has anyone had such a severe dry cough like mine and what was its outcome?
