When I was small kid, I had a very severe asthma but no wheezing at all. If I remember it right, my last attack was when I was around 12 years of age. I have not had an attack since then till the autumn of the year 2000. It was in the autumn that I had breathing problems and in fact it is generally the season for allergies in the place where I reside. Every year, I get these attacks around the same time but since 2002 to date, I have been having more frequent attacks and there is no specific time it happens all through the year. I have trouble breathing after a session of exercising. I am suffering from Sarcoidosis but fortunately my lungs have not been affected. It is only the lymph nodes that are affected. My doctor asked me to take the Methacholine challenge test and the result was not so bad; it dropped only 145 so he ruled out asthma. To tell you the truth, when I was taking the test I felt tightening in the chest so I just pretended to inhale the rest of the medication so now you know how I passed the test. Can you tell me if there is any other tests that will not frighten the wits out of me, to know whether my asthma has really returned? I have been prescribed the Albuterol inhaler and Aerobid but when I take a puff of the Albuterol, I start getting tremors and I feel anxiety and worry spreading through my whole body. My heart begins to race causing palpitations. I have been experiencing palpitations in the past and again in the last two months but now, I do not have any and I would definitely wish to keep it like that. Can you suggest any other rescue inhalers that work as well as Albuterol without the side effects?
