Can Air Filters Truly Prevent an Onset of Asthma Attack?

0 votes
I am an asthmatic patient who regularly suffers from severe bouts of asthma. It started out as a mild case of breathlessness when I was a child. At that time, I neglected it thinking that it would go away or subsequently get healed but it gradually developed into an attack of full scale asthma. It was then that I decided to consult the doctor but by then, most of the damage had already been done and since then, I have been suffering a lot due to the severe attacks of asthma. I have been put through all kinds of medication but it did not seem to work for my benefit. It was only after the doctor gave me a dose of my inhaler that the asthma had stopped bothering me and I got some much needed relief from it.
Now, I want to take all the preventions available to prevent the onset of asthma. I am allergic to pollen and dust particles. I have heard that there are some air filters available for homes. Is it true? I am not sure on what exactly is to call these things. They said it is a heap something. I am struggling here with so many drugs lately with the outburst of the asthma. I also need to find anything to trap dust and upcoming pollens of spring that are present in the air. Since I have just moved into new house with about 13 fruit trees which will also be budding soon, I do not want to take any chances. Does anyone really own an air filter? Even if so, which one? Can you tell me what kind of air filter is the best one to get? Speaking frankly, does it helps very much in controlling the onset of asthma?
