I am an asthmatic patient who regularly suffers from severe bouts of asthma. It started out as a mild case of breathlessness when I was a child. At that time, I neglected it thinking that it would go away or subsequently get healed but it gradually developed into an attack of full scale asthma. It was then that I decided to consult the doctor but by then, most of the damage had already been done and since then, I have been suffering a lot due to the severe attacks of asthma. The doctors have put me on a lot of medications. The doctor’s efforts bore result and I was in a good state. The attacks of asthma became lesser and it was pretty much in control but recently, I got a severe cold as well as a nasty cough and my peak flow is pretty fine and I am not wheezing. However, I just feel that I cannot catch my breath as well as I am coughing up some different kinds of crap which I think is mostly mucus. It seems that I always get sick than normal person does whenever I catch a cold. I have not gone to the doctor yet as they usually ask me to take antibiotics and I have been on them already three times from September after catching the cold. God forbid, this situation, but if I would on some day or the other really need them. Then I am wondering if any other person gets this kind of problems or not. Can anyone provide any suggestions or tips to overcome this problem?
