Did the Exercises Cause My Wheezing?

0 votes
Hi all. I have asthma that is allergy induced and I am very much allergic to dogs. I am on Singulair, Advair and take a couple of injections every week to prevent my allergies. However the problem starts now, I am actually working in a pet care company that cleans and grooms all kinds of pets and as today was my ‘lucky’ day I had to deal with three different breeds of dogs. I had such a severe attack of asthma that I felt my chest was being pulled into a black hole and I felt I was slipping into the cardiac arrest. My neck and my lower abdomen hurt real badly from my attempts to breathe in hard. I could only breathe gasps of air in and out that I had to cough to do so. I took albuterol through an inhaler and coughed it out almost immediately every time.

The million dollar question for me now is when my so called rescue inhaler does not work for me then what on earth will? What is the right time to go to hospital? I was really frightened today at work as I hadn’t experienced anything like this for quite some time now. Any suggestions to make my position even a wee bit better would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
