Can Asthma Cause a Longterm Damage To the Lungs?

0 votes
I have found out that I have been feeling great this summer as I have not experienced asthma the whole of this fall. I had a severe bout of pneumonia last August. I then contracted a lot of recurrent bronchitis and chest infections after I got over this terrible bout of pneumonia and I experienced a horrendous time with my asthma also. Anyway, the climate is slowly beginning to change now. Today, I found that I have been experiencing a mild soreness in my throat and a slight vibration in my chest. I find that I am also wheezing since a few days. I am a very health conscious person as I do not drink or smoke. I am getting terrified of whether I will have to go through the same problems that I experienced last winter. I just cannot imagine suffering the same thing again. I am scared that my asthma had damaged my lungs so bad that I am prone to every chest infection out there. I would like to know whether anybody has experienced similar problems and if so what is the solution to it. I am getting very desperate and would be very grateful if someone can help me out of the mess I am in at the earliest.
