When I was a kid, I had Bronchial Asthma but only till the age of two. In the year of 2000, I started getting acidity and in December 2001, I had a terrible attack again of Bronchitis and found out that I was getting breathless. I was given the Pulmonary Function Test without using the bronchodilator and I was diagnosed as having asthma. I have requested to have the test redone with the Methacholine Challenge test instead. I am 25 years old and not a smoker. I was put on Pulmicort and Singulair and they did not help me in any way. When I experienced breathlessness last night, I used my Albuterol Inhaler and in about 20 minutes, I coughed up a lot of white phlegm and found that I could breathe a lot better after that. Is this a symptom of Asthma? You have to take into account that I do not have wheezing, only a hard time trying to inhale and exhale air. The doctor said that my lungs were clear when he examined them. I feel that my trouble lies in the bronchial tract and not in my lungs. I am looking forward to some inputs from you all.
