My daughter has been on Singulair since March and then she was on Serevent in April and Flovent since the beginning of May. She was on a nebulizer a week back. The doctor who is treating her told us that her asthma is getting out of hand so he changed her drug to .5 mg of Pulmicort once daily. We were very unhappy with her new pediatrician that we decided to go back to the old one. She also put her on Flonase till our appointment with the allergist on the 26th of June. So I hope that we will have all our questions answered. One question that I wanted to ask was whether Flovent is stronger than Pulmicort. Earlier, she was on 110 mcg Flovent using two puffs a day and I would like to know if any of you have had any good results by switching to Pulmicort from Flovent. I have generally found people starting with Pulmicort and graduating to Flovent and I cannot understand why they are stopping the Serevent. I have been made to understand that both Pulmicort and Flovent are corticosteroids and that Serevent is the bronchodilator, in which case must she still not use Serevent? I do not know why I did not ask her pediatrician about this because I generally get all the questions ready before I go to see her doctor but when I get there, the visit turns out differently that all my questions are either not necessary there or become useless.
