Is the Pain On My Chest a Symptom for People Who Have Asthma?

0 votes
When I took a chest X-ray for a dry cough and wheezing, the results were negative. I was given antibiotics for it but it did not seem to help at all. I was then given Salamol breathe easy to see if that would help. The doctor told me that I did not have Asthma, but no other tests other than the X-ray and that was about ten weeks after what happened. Now it is ten days since I started Salamol, which seems to help my wheezing to an extent. Now I have a new problem of a pain in the chest somewhere in the middle when I breathe. Is this what everyone calls a tight chest to those who have asthma?

Chest tightness, pain, or pressure is one of the symptoms of asthma. But it is better that you undergo lab test, other than x-ray, to be sure whether you have asthma or not.

Asthma – tests that you may have to undergo

1. Peak Flow
2. Spirometry
3. Complete Pulmonary Function Testing
4. Bronchoprovocation Challenge Testing
5. Pulse Oximetry
6. Arterial Blood Gas (ABG)
7. Allergy Testing
