Has Anyone With Asthma Experienced a Fainting Spell During an Asthma Attack?

0 votes
I have been suffering from severe coughing and I am also experiencing a chronic irritation in my throat. I have a pet dog that sleeps with me in my bed and I have been inhaling a lot of passive smoking. My mother tells me that all this is hereditary I suffered from a severe coughing fit and started coughing so badly that I was completely breathless and I fainted on the floor. When I came to my senses, I was not at all able to recall what had occurred. I want to know whether anybody has ever experienced a fainting spell due to an asthma attack like me. I have really become terrified because of this and I really do not know what to do about it. I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me out of this mess I am in by shedding some light on that matter as soon as possible.

Signs and symptoms vary from individual to individual so it may be useful to know these signs and symptoms.  These include difficulty breathing, severe wheezing, chest pain, blue lips, feelings of anxiety or panic, coughing that won't stop, tightened neck and chest muscles.   Your fainting may have been brought on by any of these or, yet, there may be another underlying cause for that.  I suggest you seek immediate consult with your physician for proper evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
