While breastfeeding, it is best to treat the symptoms of the common cold and flu by taking medications with single active ingredients rather than multi-ingredient cold and flu products. Although antihistamines and decongestants are not recommended for breastfeeding moms as these may decrease your supply of milk. Consult a physician for the best flu medicine, have a rest, drink plenty of fluids and eat healthy.
