I am a working professional who has been diagnosed for ADD just lately. I use 20 mg of the over-the-counter version of Adderall called Amphetamine on the mornings and 10 mg in the afternoons when I know I have to work late into the night. S It is a very useful drug that helps me work with concentration and helps to reduce the annoyance and tension that I experience when I know that I have work to finish. But I must say that the effects of this medication are very deep and I sincerely suggest that children below the age of 18 years do not use it unless the child is a severe AHD patient. The slight feeling of excitement that people experiences make him want to misuse it and kids should not be allowed to have to get into such a situation. In spite of strict monitoring there are instances when the child is tempted to misuse the drug. This drug has been of great help to me but to get at the right dose tough. Taking too high a dose make me become terribly conscious of details and restricts my capability to think freely. For me a 30 mg dose is too high and 20 mg is just the right dose. The side effects of Adderall are that it does not let me fall asleep, I have no appetite but have not lost weight, felt very exhausted in my nerves and dry mouth. Many of these side effects disappear in a few days and some persist. I also experienced a feeling of slight excitement, which according is the worst of the side effects because this is what will eventually lead to the misuse of the drug. But the advantage is that it is very good to combat tension.
