Can Nembutal Given Frequently In Infancy Be Related To Severe Depression Beginning At Age 2?

0 votes
father was an m.d. who did not want children. (I was born in 1950)  My mother has told me that  during infancy, I was given nembutal whenever my father found it inconvenient for me to be awake.  Having suffered from major depression since I can remember (age 2) I wonder if it might be connected to nembutal.  Even today, I become suicidal if I take even one dose of barbiturate.

I too have been given Nembutal in my formative years and am suffering from severe depression. Not sure whether I can link those two together and say that Nembutal is the cause but I would say there is a strong correlation.

Have you been taking any other medications whilst a baby or once you became adult?

I have taken more rx in my life than you could shake a stick at.  I was 28 when the psychotropic drugs began being prescribed.  Almost all was given in an attempt to treat the depression.  ECT x 2 (a waste of $40k.)  18 psychiatrists.  many suicide attempts.  A very unhappy life.  My 18month younger brother is the happiest guy on earth  (by the time he was born circumstances changed so that he had little contact with our father.)

Thank you for your response because it makes me feel less alone.
