I am a victim of bipolar I since 1995. It was in 2004 that I became neurotic and had to be hospitalized for about two weeks. Zyprexa was very helpful to bring me out of that neurotic phase. A few weeks later, I experienced a severe despondency and tried to commit suicide. I was having 10 mg of Zyprexa during that period. The dosage was lowered to 2.5 mg and I had to move to Dubai around six months after that. I was advised by my doctor to stop using this drug after a month which was a big blunder as I reverted to my old neurotic state and started the drug again. I was ravenously hungry all the time and was sleeping more than sixteen hours a day. But I used to exercise daily in order to maintain my weight. My thoughts turned quite disoriented and by some luck I was able to hang on to my part tome job. I have finally begun taking Lamictal in 2005 and have 1.5 mg of Zyprexa only if and when I need it. I have now reduced the weight that I had put on and am very satisfied with Lamictal.
