Hi.
Espride is an atypical anti-psychotic drug. One of Espride's strong side effects is the high stimulation for prolactin secretion. This will cause the over-production of breast milk. Also, Espride is excreted in the breast milk. Because it can be passed to the baby through breastfeeding and having the consequences unclear, it is not safe to take this drug while breastfeeding.
Now that you say that you've already stopped breastfeeding, this fact can let you take the drug. However, take necessary precautions before taking it. Do not self medicate if you feel depressed. Aside from medications, there are other ways to deal with depression other than drugs. In case you will be prescribed with Espride again, take it as advised by the physician and if you like, you can consult a clinical pharmacist too to be more comfortable and informed of the contraindications, side effects and other information about Espride.
