What Is the Best Substitute for Brondecon In Australia?

0 votes
Brondecon is now unavailable in Australia.
We assume the ingredient Theophylline must be what is causing this excellent and universally popular medication to have been discontinued in Australia and  would like to know why.
My husband & I have always used it infrequently and in very tiny amounts ( a couple of drops)for throat congestion and in larger amounts (a teaspoonful) for severe flu symptoms. We have never used anything like the recommended dose.
Now that it has been discontinued we are unable to find any other medication as good as Brondecon.

Choline Theophyllinate is the active ingredient you should be looking for.

On the international markets it can probably be found under the following brand names: Choledyl, Teovent, Theocolin and Theolinate but availability is not guaranteed and getting the medications into Australia is probably not going to work out well due to import regulations.

Sorry that I cannot give more information on that medication.
