Is Keppra Still Needed After You Quit Drinking?

0 votes
My boyfriend had a couple alcohol seizers, he has since quit drinking, will he need to stay on the Keppra?  Its effecting his outlook on life.    He says he feels beat down, hes losing weight, and  has no motivation.  He is also on Prozac.  He has not had a seizure since he quit drinking  6 months ago.

Keppra is an anti-convulsant. It prevents neuronal firing that leads to seizure activity. Prozac is an anti-depressant. It is also indicated for those with alcohol dependence. Those you have mentioned are few of the adverse reactions of Keppra and Prozac.

Please consider visiting the doctor for the possibility of dose adjustments since you also have mentioned that he hasn't had seizures for months.
