Both men and women can get HPV, or the Human Papillomavirus. It doesn't cause humans to manifest any signs or symptoms that is why people may not be aware that they already have it.

HPV is easily passed on. It can spread through any kind of sexual activity that involves genital contact, even without intercourse.
