Can I give my 6 month old baby some benadryl? She is 17 lbs. My sister gives it to her 9 month old almost every night to sleep. And she is fine. So would it be ok to give it to my daughter for a runny nose and to help her sleep?

It is not safe to give Benadryl to children under 1 year especially on a regular basis without calling your doctor first. Benadryl is also a sedative and care must be taken not to overdose your child. Hopefully your sister has a prescription for it from a licensed health care practitioner.
