my daughter, 17 yr old, took an overdose of benadryl on 11/27/2008. we were told to watch for any possible effects on her heart. she now has a racing heart. could this be a reaction to the over dose?

As an adult suffering from addiction to benadryl (not on purpose...I suffer from in door and outdoor allergies) it very well could be! I take pills to slow my heart rate because I suffer from anxiety as well. My resting heart rate is 115 beats p/min.. that is not normal (80-90bp/min). My doctors thinks the anxiety could have been brought out do to the addiction. Hope this helps.
