Hepatitis B is a severe and serious liver illness that is caused by HBV or Hepatitis B Virus, for some patient this condition can become chronic and leads to different liver conditions like: liver damage, liver cancer, liver failure and cirrhosis.

When adults are infected with this virus they usually fully recover, but when infants and children does they are most likely to have a chronic Hepatitis B illness.

There is no known cure for Hepatitis B, but a vaccine can prevent this disease.

Hepatitis B can be caused or transmitted through:

- Sexual contact
- Accidental needle stick
- When sharing needles
- If a pregnant woman is infected, her baby can acquire the disease during birth
